Using a Temporary ON/OFF Zone for Hot Water Control (When Temperature Probe Fails)
If the Hot Water Temperature Probe has failed, you can maintain control of your hot water by creating a temporary ON/OFF zone and assigning your Receiver Unit or Electric Switch to it. This allows the system to continue operating while you await a replacement probe.
Step 1: Create a Temporary ON/OFF Zone
Go to the My House sub-menu.
Click Create New Zone.
Enter a name for the new zone (e.g., Hot Water ON/OFF).
Click Create.
Step 2: Remove the Receiver Unit or Electric Switch from the Original Zone
Open the Zone Setup for the original Hot Water Zone.
Scroll to Zone Devices.
Click the bin icon next to the Receiver Unit or Electric Switch to remove it from the zone.
NOTE: This will leave an error message in the system related to the missing probe. We do not recommend deleting the original zone unless the error message causes significant inconvenience.
Step 3: Assign the Channel Receiver to the Temporary Zone
In the new Hot Water ON/OFF zone, click Assign Device.
Locate the device number (usually printed on a sticker on the device).
Select the Receiver Unit or Electric Switch and click Assign Devices.
Step 4: Once the Temperature Probe is Functioning Again
Remove the Receiver Unit or Electric Switch from the temporary zone and reassign it to the original Hot Water Zone.
Make sure the Temperature Probe is also correctly assigned to the Hot Water Zone.
Delete the temporary zone by selecting it, going to Zone Setup, and clicking "Delete This Zone".
