Solution ID: 7352

Step 1

To remove the Electric Relay from the system, it needs to be powered on and in range of the Genius Hub.

To add the device, ideally this is within direct range of the Genius Hub (either in the same room as each other, or adjacent rooms).

If the devices are not close enough together:

1. Move the Genius Hub closer to the Electric Relay. The Genius Hub must have power and an Internet connection. This can be done by:

a) Using a long Ethernet cable
b) Plugging the Hub into a different Ethernet switch
c) Using a Power Line Ethernet adaptor or WiFi booster which has an Ethernet port ( see this link for how to connect the hub with a power-line Ethernet adaptor )

2. Temporarily wire the Electric Relay to a plug and short piece of flex so you can power on the Electric Relay next to the Genius Hub. It is recommended that this is done by an electrician/heating engineer.

Alternatively, click here, if the device has failed/is no longer in the property

Step 2

Now the Genius Hub needs to get ready to remove the device.

The Doctor will remove the device

Step 3

Press the button on the front of the Electric Relay 3 times in 1.5 seconds.

The red light begins flashing when the device has excluded successfully. If the red light does not appear, unplug and re-plug in the device.

On success, the Electric Relay has been assigned a number, write this number on the side of the device.

The Doctor will communicate with the device
