The common reasons for a smart plug to switch on unexpectedly are :

  1. The smart plug is in a Footprint Room and occupancy has been detected, and so the room is requesting heat. This will turn the smart plug on as they are often used for electric heating and so switched on when the heating is switched on in a heating room. The smart plug will then remain on until the inactive time has been satisfied

  2. The smart plug has been assigned/linked to a heating room (or multiple rooms) and the heating room is calling for heat, switching the smart plug on. Assigning a smart plug to multiple rooms can also lead to the smart plug repeatedly switching on and off as it receives conflicting commands.

If no one was occupying the room at the time of the smart plug switching on, check that your sensitivity settings for the room sensor isn't set too high. We recommend that the sensitivity is set to 70% as much higher (such as 90%) than this can cause false triggers to be detected.
