IssueDescThe Doctor says: You need to Offset the Temperature on the Genius Radiator Valve
ID29

The following explains how to apply an offset temperature to the Genius Radiator Valve.

Troubleshooting step

Sometimes a Genius Radiator Valve can think the room it is situated in is warmer than it is, or indeed cooler, which usually happens when the valve is located in either a draughty or a tight space i.e. behind a heavy curtain, behind a large piece of furniture or close to a doorway. The Valve Hidden Offset feature is one way to deal with any discrepancies that you may have noticed; for example if you have multiple valves in the same room, you may have noticed that one radiator turns off sooner than another which could be a cause of where the valve is located; or you may have noticed that the room never appears to reach the target temperature you set on the app.

Troubleshooting step

First locate the radiator valve in the room you want to adjust.

Troubleshooting step

In order to adjust the temperature that the troublesome valve is controlling to you can apply an 'hidden offset’ to it.

To increase the heat provided by the Genius Radiator Valve (if the valve is under-reading the temperature) put in a larger value (move the slider to the right).

To reduce the heat provided by the Genius Radiator Valve (if the valve is over-reading the temperature) put in a negative value (move the slider to the left).

To help guide your adjustment, you can look at the charts for that zone; the difference between the red line (measured temperature)and the green line (set temperature) is the amount you want to apply.

If the red line (measured temperature) is above the green line (set temperature), the valve is over-reading the temperature and you will want to move the slider left.

If the red line (measured temperature) is below the green line (set temperature), the valve is under-reading the temperature and you will want to move the slider right.

To apply the adjustment:
Go to the 'Menu' then 'Settings'
Select 'Devices'
Select the Genius Radiator Valve in the room you want to adjust
Go to 'Valve Hidden Offset'
Set your adjustment as described above
